May

In May, Dan came back home as well as his younger brother, Jordan, returned home from his mission!

Pictures from April:

A few more of while Dan was gone....

Left: Daphne at the park Right: A few of the nights we stayed with my parent's, Rueben and Kamille's Guinea Pigs were also there. Daphne had a fun time admiring the piggies.

Daphne is obsessed with bikes. It took me forever to convince her to leave this bike at Sam's Club, after letting her sit on it for like a half hour first.

Grandpa cuddling with Daphne on the couch.

We also went to a family reunion luncheon for my Grandma Black's family. Left: Daphne loves to play with my cousin, Victor, and convinced him to color in her fairy coloring book. Right: On the way to the reunion, she fell asleep with her shoes on her ears. My dad had been teasing her earlier that day by putting them on her ears. She decided to do the same and thought she was pretty funny.

Elder Jasmer is home!!!! Jeff and Dolores asked me to make sure the house was decorated for their return (they went to pick him up). My parent's neighbors decorated their door like this (below) for their son's return. I thought it was so cute, I had to copy.

Natalie, Shannon, and Cami also came over to our house one day and helped make a sign for their garage. We put all the kids handprints on the poster per Dolores' request.

Everyone that met Jordan at the airport (Dan wasn't able to get off work and Daphne and I were at Primary Children's Hospital that day for follow-up surgery stuff). We were both so excited to get a text showing that he made it home!

Later on that evening, we went over to see him. We all look so tired in this picture, haha, probably because we were! We stayed way too late visiting, but it was worth it.

Daphne found this cute hat at Target and wouldn't take it off. I actually was on the hunt for a hat for her for the summer anyways, so we got it. Sadly, she loved wearing it backwards for a few days (it's the only way to wear a hat according to her) and never wore it when it was necessary this summer. Maybe next summer she will.

Wearing her hat while helping me prep the veggie garden for planting.

Every time we go into Hobby Lobby she has to find this bolt if fabric and hug it.

Daphne begs to sit on the potty and paint her "fungers" every morning.

Left: Daphne smelling Grandpa Jasmer's flowers when Gabe got his mission call. Gabe leaves Sept 3rd to Guadalajara, Mexico (Spanish speaking). Unfortunately, I missed when he opened his call. My car broke down and I spent the time I should have been there getting it towed. Thankfully though, Dan and I had driven separately so he and Daphne were able to be there, which was most important.

Right: Sad Daphne. One of her sick days. Thankfully by June the number of days she spends sick had lessened quite a bit!

We went to the dinosaur park with the Frandsens. Daphne loved digging for fossils.

Jordan came over for a sleepover shortly after he returned from his mission. Daphne is extremely slow to warm up to boys (poor Jordan loves her dearly and she usually won't give him the time of day...and cries when he comes near her) but she did pretty good with him on our tramp and he captured some fun pictures of their time together.

Left: For Mother's Day, we had no mom's to visit (Dolores was still in Brazil picking Jordan up from his mission and my mom was out visiting Grandparents- they left way before we got out of church so it was too late to join them) so we tried to come up with something fun to do as a family. I thought it would be fun to go on a kid friendly hike and had heard lots about this trail near our house. We decided to give it a try! Whoever called it "kid friendly" was crazy so we had to turn around. It was freezing cold and even started to storm, but we had fun nonetheless. Daphne loved riding on daddy's shoulders and I had fun watching them with her sporting her silly hat. Right: The story behind the silly hat....Daphne found it for like a dollar on clearance at Kohls and wanted it so bad. We couldn't help but laugh at how silly it looked on her and thought it would be a fun play hat for home so we gave in and bought her the monster hat.

Our family on the Mother's Day hike.

While Dan was still in Florida, Gabe came over one night and had a sleepover with Daphne. I convinced him to jump on the tramp with her in exchange for me making him Jambalaya. It was nice to have company:)
