Crandall Family Vacation Part 2

Monday and Tuesday we went to Disneyland! The shuttle to Disneyland took FOREVER but we had fun knowing we were almost there.

Biggest lesson learned the first day? Daphne was a major fan of Disneyland as long as you didn't take her on any spinning rides. She handled "scary" rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion just fine (as she learned that by wearing daddy's hat she could cover her eyes whenever it was scary....mom closed her eyes a lot too on Haunted Mansion) but she did NOT like the kiddy spinny rides.

She was sooo excited to meet Sully....until we were standing next to him. She freaked and then the second we walked away, she blew him kisses and told him she loved him:)

She was super excited about meeting Pluto as well and reacted slightly better once she got up there:)

Fun at Toone Town

That night, after everyone was asleep, Dan helped me hang up all the t-shirts, capes (for the kiddos), and earrings (for the girls) on a clotheslines to surprise everyone with the next morning. Everyone knew t-shirts were coming, but didn't know what they would look like. It was fun to surprise everyone the next morning with them. The front had Crandall written out as different Disney characters and each family picked a different Disney movie to represent their family. Ours was "Frozen" with me as Ana, Dan as Cristof, and Daphne as a girl version of Olaf. Everyone wore their t-shirts to Disneyland that day in preparation for the "Crandall Amazing Race" (more on that in next post).

We added in an extra element of surprise by also having a t-shirt for our baby hung, revealing the gender.

Shuttle ride Day 2.

After our morning Amazing Race event, we spent the afternoon and evening on rides. All the family went different directions, but we were able to spend time with each family at some point that day, which was fun. That evening was my favorite. We stuck it out until 10:30 PM for World of Color. The ambiance made me feel like a little kid again. Daphne is quite stubborn when it comes to napping on the go, so she stayed awake the whole day and finally passed out during the show around 11:00PM. I was sad she missed it, but she had a fun day, so it was ok:)

We spent the afternoon riding kiddy rides with Daphne. Her favorite ride by far was Ariel. We rode it multiple times there. I loved it too. The line was short and I got to sit on a nice air conditioned ride for longer than I waited in line:)

We also saw "Turtle Talk with Crush"

That evening, we met up with more of the family and took turns helping each other with our kids so we could ride the "Cars Radiator Springs" ride, which was by far my favorite! I love the beginning and how realistic all the animated characters are as well as the race at the end. It's one of the few rides that I have found are worth a little bit of a drop (yes, I despise roller coasters with drops) for the rest of the ride.

First time we rode it, it was girls versus boys. The boys car won:(

Daphne helped me watch Zoey while her parents rode it again with Dan. Zoey and Daphne are only a few months apart, but Daphne kept on treating her like a baby and giving her kisses, which Zoey wasn't too thrilled about. Haha.

I was able to ride the ride a second time as well, right before World of Color with Andrew and Cami. The ride was so fun to do at night, seeing Disneyland all lit up. The best part was that we could see the firework show while we were racing through Radiator Springs.

Daphne passed out waiting for the shuttle home. I think Boston was a little confused to see his hyper cousin asleep for once:) He was so cute and wanted a picture with her.
