Day 4 & 6- Universal Studios

Day 4 & 6

We went to Universal Studios for the 4th and 6th day of our trip. I will post day 5 last. It was just easier that way since all our Universal Studios pictures went together:) We had fun, but definitely prefer Disneyland. Universal is small enough that you really only need one day there, but we had gotten buy one, get one free passes so of course we went back:) The rides at Disney are more fun (and baby friendly), in my opinion, but we did love the Studio Tour. We went on it both mornings. The tour was 1.5 hours long and took you through a ton of the areas they use for filming. It was really cool to learn about how movies are made and see many of the sets. Our favorite part of the tour by far was King Kong. The tour bus went into one of the sound buildings and the bus turned into an amusement park ride. The entire room was a digital screen (walls & ceiling) and you felt like you were in a scene from the King Kong movie. The bus rattled and jerked as King Kong fought off some dinosaurs. It was awesome and the number one reason why we took the tour again.

First Tour Ride

Second Tour Ride

Jaws!!!

Daphne's Favorite Ride (She couldn't ride any at Universal)
So... I was super excited to find a souvineer with my name on it, since it rarely happens...

.... and then I took a look at Dan's name and realized he had three whole rows of his name. Yeah, it kinda ruined the moment:)
Dave LOVED all the oversized candy options. It is a good thing he is strict with cash or else his food love would have had us packing home a whole suitcase full of this stuff:)

The Who Tree! For Christmastime, they had Grinch stuff
and characters everywhere. I loved the tree!

Our one and only group picture.
Daphne found a new best friend on our trip. She loved hanging out with Mike. Between the funny faces and his camelback that she would try to steal water from, she was in Heaven. Mike and Julia were the perfect friends to go on a trip with Daphne in tow. They were super patient with us having to take things slower and helped out so much with her so we could enjoy the trip as well. We couldn't have done it without them!

What a fun trip...I love cheap airfare...you will find you will fly if at all possible with kids especially when you get more. I only drove for the first time this last summer because I HAD to. I only drive across country or to vacation if its under 10 hours or the AF is forcing me to move again.
