One Month Old

I should have written this post sooner because now I can't remember what milestones she had before she turned a month old and which have happened after. Oh well. Here is what I remember!

For a comparison...at her two week check-up she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz (20th percentile) and was 20.5 inches (60th percentile) long. At her one month appointment she weighed 8 lbs 9 oz (50th percentile) and was 20.8 inches long (50th percentile). She seems so petite to us, or at least appears that way next to her cute football player cousin, Boston.
I liked how my sister-in-law compared Boston in size from 2 weeks to 1 month with a football...so to keep in style with Daphne's room, I decided to take pictures of her against her owl pillow. It was quite the challenge with how wiggly she likes to be both while awake and asleep! Either way, I thought it was a fun comparison.

In her first month of life Daphne:

-Was diagnosed with Acid Reflux and is now on meds and trying a new formula to help reduce loosing entire feedings
-Met so many family and friends who love her dearly
-Got babysat for the first time by Grandpa Black, Grandma Black, and Grandma Jasmer while mom attended Bridal Showers for her future Aunt Kamille, while mom got her hair colored, and while mom went on a date with dad!
-Got her newborns taken from her Aunt Kristen who came from South Carolina just to meet her and her new cousin Boston.
-Proved to mom and dad that she is a VERY active little girl by wiggling completely out of her outfits while sleeping
-LOVES her binky...and sucks vigorously on it both while awake and asleep.
-Had her first emergency appointment with the doc when she reacted negatively to supplements mom was given.
-Learned to love taking baths once she no longer had an umbilical cord to get in the way
-Learned how to puke (and we are talking flowing like a fountain spit-up...not regular baby spit up!), pee, and have blowouts all over mommy....trying to teach her to do that to daddy instead!
-Finally succeeded at flowing like a fountain all over daddy's face
-Went on her first walk in her stroller.
-Gets the hiccups at least twice a day.
-Entertains her parents with her startle reflux, smiles, and giggles in her sleep.
-Still fits into all her newborn clothes.

Overall Daphne is a very happy and healthy baby. We had a rough beginning with many feeding issues as well as her acid reflux but now that things are quite a bit more under control she has been quite content! We sure love having her as a part of her family and I have LOVED getting to spend each day with her...I trying to enjoy each moment until I have to start work up again.
